About Me

Hello! My name is Aspen Stuart-Cunningham, and I'm from Tampa, Florida. I graduated from Stanford University in 2023 with a Bachelor of Science in Physics and a Notation in Science Communication.

My love for science and nature began when I was only one day old and my parents named me after a tree. I jest, but only slightly. I have always had a passion for learning more about the world - and not only this world, but others as well. My favorite past time as a kid was sticking my head in a book and getting lost in a magical fantasy world. I loved the adventures and the idea that anything was possible. This love for fantasy greatly influenced how I began to love science: in the real world, science is what makes anything possible. I think this love for fantasy worlds, the joy that I experienced when I finally understood the magic system of a new realm, is what led me to my love for physics. With physics, I get to try to understand how the universe works, what "magic" makes it tick. Except now, it's the real world and real laws, and we can harness them to manipulate the our universe. My love for reading persists to this day - when I'm on vacation, you're bound to find me devouring the latest Brandon Sanderson or Michio Kaku book!

My alter-ego is as a fiber artist; when I'm not reading or writing about science, I love to knit, crochet, sew, embroidery, etc. Follow my crafting journey on Instagram at @aspen.artisan or on my Etsy shop.

Music is also a big part of my life. I've been composing lyrics and melodies for pop songs since middle school and have recently been learning to produce my music. You can check both me and my former a cappella group, Stanford Counterpoint, out on Spotify!
